National Young Academy of Nepal (NaYAN) invites applications for membership from early career Nepali scholars who have demonstrated excellence in scholarly activities and a passion for delivering impact in their field and to the public.
NaYAN is an academy of Nepali young scholars registered with the Government of Nepal. It aims to bring early career scientists from different disciplines together, nurture them for leadership roles, and foster interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary collaborations at national and international levels. NaYAN also engages with civil society, media, business sector, and government agencies.
We encourage highly motivated scholars based in Nepal from all disciplines, including but not limited to natural sciences, medicine, engineering, social sciences, business to apply for the membership of NaYAN.

Applicants should be in their early years of professional careers. We envision that the median age of NaYAN members will not exceed 40 years. If your age is above 40, please feel free to justify your case. We also envision that the membership of NaYAN reflects diversity in terms of scientific discipline, career stage, geography, gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, and language.
Once you are selected as a member of the National Young Academy of Nepal, you are expected to attend its Annual General Meeting (AGM) which recurs in the last quarter of each year (September-December). You are also expected to actively contribute to one or more of the NaYAN’s working groups and programs.
Current members of NaYAN and alumni are established individuals and leaders in their professional field. This year, we look forward to welcoming the new colleagues. The fourth cohort of new members will be selected by August 2024, and their membership is valid until the AGM of 2028 (four years).
Application for membership should be submitted individually and personally.
