Call for participation

National Young Academy of Nepal (NaYAN) is inviting you to participate in a workshop on predatory academic practices.


Gandaki Province Academy of Science and Technology (GPAST), National Young Academy of Nepal (NaYAN), and Pokhara University Research Center (PURC) in collaboration with Gandaki University (GU), Global Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies (GISS), Indian National Young Academy of Sciences (INYAS), National Young Academy of Bangladesh (NYAB), Sri Lanka Young Academy of Sciences (SLYAS) are organizing a workshop on "predatory academic practices in south Asia”.

Date: 25- 26 March, 2022

Location: Pokhara University, Kaski, Nepal, plus virtually (hybrid event)

Total capacity: 40 for physical participants and 180 for virtual participants

It aims to discuss and provide hands on training on how to identify predatory journals and conference and how to avoid them.

Target participants are researchers including faculty & students, policy makers and leaders of universities, research centers & funding agencies, journal publishers and conference organizers, journal article reviewers & editors from South Asia covering all academic disciplines.

Selected in-person participants will be provided with transportation support. All participants who attend complete program will also get a certificate.
